Business Reality Check: Buckle Up for a No-Nonsense Rant! ππ₯

As of today, I refuse to deal with "I-kinda-want-it" business owners.
I declare and refuse.
For good.
The typical narrative goes like this: I really want to elevate my business/brand, but:
"I don't want to invest money into getting professional help."
"I plan on keep chasing freebies & bartering sessions."
"I want what I want as long as it feels comfortable."
"I want to build my business as long as it consists of the activities that I find pleasurable and nothing but that."
"I want you to sugar-coat me, pamper me and tell me things I want to hear in order to inspire me. No criticism nor common-sense feedback is accepted since it's 'lowering my vibe & motivation.'"
"I want you to tell me exactly how much money I will earn and when in order to fully trust you."
And the FAMOUS ONE: "Oh Tena, I truly trust your expertise (after they've seen my portfolio and testimonials) and I really like your energy, but I just paid someone else to do ________ (and that someone failed) so I don't have any funds to invest right now.
I am done with it.
Done.
To reinforce my doness, let me share some truth-bombs:
π£There's no freaking expert who's gonna give you applicable, actionable, and movement-worthy advice TAILORED TO YOUR SPECIFIC NEED free of charge.
NONE.
NO SUCH THING!
Best case scenario - you'll get an "AHA" moment.
And that's it.
Also, another truth-bomb? π£
Most business owners have PRESUMPTIONS around why things in their business DON'T WORK.
Yes, just presumptions (not facts) which are (most of the time) incorrect. They PRESUME, they don't really know.
Yes, even entrepreneurs who are in the business for 10, 15, 20+ years.
Like the CEO of this company I was recently creating a student retention program for, who was CONVINCED that the copy in the email marketing was a reason for the plummeted sales, and that her list just turned cold and that "it's post-covid era where no one buys courses anymore."
Whereas the REAL PROBLEM was the fact she offered exactly ZERO COURSES on helping students to MONETIZE what they've learned, she held events where student immersion and co-creation were non-existent (for she was doing all of the talking), and she hadn't created a COMMUNITY where students can enjoy the feeling of belonging, exchange ideas, challenges, and wins while being on a learning curve.
Or the coach that's convinced that she only needs to brush up on her sales skills and put herself "more out there" by pouring money into the endless pit of paid ads even beside the fact she has NO IDEA where she wants her business to go, WHO she is really serving (and what keeps her audience awake at night), and WHY would someone choose HER in a sea of other coaches, consultants, and mentors, nor the slightest idea of how to vocalize the last two (crucial) components.
Or the breath-facilitator that's convinced that the website will boost his revenue, even beside the fact he has no established brand identity (just a visual brand-aid), no operational growth strategy, and no expertise in creating an online customer journey.
Third truth bombπ£:
Just because you're good at something and find it enjoyable doesn't mean you can (or should try) build a business out of it.
For example, just because you're a marvelous cook, DOESN'T MEAN you should open your own restaurant.
There is a difference in doing what you love, getting paid for doing what you love and running a business.
A massive difference.
Like Cosmos apart difference.
The thing is, if you're not ready to pursue your calling when it's raining & pouring, if you don't believe in your WHY more than in the fact that the sun is going to come up tomorrow, and if you're unwilling to do WHATEVER IT TAKES to make it work (including investing into external expertise), you shouldn't be running a business but indulging in a passion project (and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that).
Passion projects also sometimes can pay bills.
Emphasize being on "sometimes".
And they're not businesses.
Yet again, the world is packed with passion-project chasers.
Today more than ever.
And most of them (for whatever reason) keep ending up in my inbox.
So I had an epiphany.
The Universe is obviously sending me these individuals for a reason, therefore I will start conducting FACEBOOK LIVES (weekly) starting next week in which I'll selflessly (and free) share my (generic but valuable) experience, expertise, and perspective.
If you have a struggle, concern, or a mind-boggling question - feel free to attend.
I'll hold nothing back in the Q&A part of the live and will consult (in real-time) up to 3 business owners (one question per owner).
And if you happen to have an idea you wish to pour your heart, soul, and energy into because you KNOW it's what you came here to do,
or if you feel you have strategy/operations/tactics in place but your mindset is not following the trajectory you need,
or if you're simply ready to climb higher than you've ever climbed before and you want someone with years of experience in coaching, consultancy, and purposeful brand building to hold your hand - let's have a proper chemistry call.
Why?
Since helping others to extract and brand their brilliance is my super-power.
Since I have done this for numerous individuals and startups across the globe thus far and ensured remarkable results.
Since my calling consists of helping others to shine - one day, session, and well-planned action at a time.
And since without actually getting to know you I can only ever PRESUME I can help you, but not actually know.
Takes a call for us to establish that.
Sounds interesting?
